The 17th Edition of the International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC) was held in Kuala Lumpur in February 2025 and organized by AAPG, EAGE, SEG and SPE.   It was hosted by PETRONAS and co-hosted by SLB.  With the theme “Energy for All: Reflect >> Innovate >> Evolve”, IPTC 2025 represented a collective commitment of the industry to advancing innovative solutions, sustainable practices, and energy accessibility for all.  About 12,000 participants from 75 countries participated. 

In Technical Session 45 “Well Digitalization and Automation” AUI Systems presented cutting edge research in drilling hazard and risk understanding to optimize well design.  Knowledge-based AI delivered automated risk assessment via multi-activity analyses of DDR information – delineating sequences of risk build-up and manifestation, significantly improving quantification of Lost Time and NPT during drilling.
